Are there any human values left?

Iran executes a sixteen year old girl and hindus and muslims fight at the drop of the hat. Where, where are the famed human values? Why doesnt U.S attack these perparators of human rights violation?

Were you being sarcastic when you said that US should take care of Iran? Because you said that you were not happy with the foreign policies, but you still want them go ahead? And IMO, both Afgan and Iraq were the right things to do. Neither Sadam nor Taliban were Gandhis.

Its one of those damned if you do, and damned if you dont things.

Maybe if we (India) stop hiding behind NAM and start protecting our people, then things in J&K would be better than what it is today.

btw, when were you last in TNgr. Pollution levels there are killing young, old, hindus, muslims, dogs, cats alike.

Sidharth, I dont think education has anything to do with human values. I mean, what Indians learn from education is arithmetic and science. History is something that has never been given any importance and the biased perspectives only add in to the confusion. If the teachers themselves have biased views (I know several of them), students cant be expected to become better. I guess people dont realise the value of a human being till they lose somebody close to themselves. And that really sucks.

I dont know, but somehow I feel moves based on war need no language to understand. There was a Korean movie trailer I saw, and I have seen several english and hindi war movies. Its the same. The feelings, the fear and the understanding and love. We fight a war for superiority. But nobody is superior or inferior. All our needs are the same.

Hello dear madras

You see “flamebait comments”? Yours is worse! The only reason I was calling upon U.S. mercy on iran was because U.S. seems to be the most eager country ready to invade other countries without a cause (Afganistan and Iraq).

India is a country that has for most parts of its existence, never had an opinion on any of the foreign countries (which is why they formed the Non-Aligned Movement). So, no point asking about India. We are not talking of India, but talking about an opinionated country which has an opinion on anything that occurs in this world. So, if you have a Stand and a Policy, then it does not justify that you apply your Stands and Policies in a biased manner.

I am not saying “US sucks”. It doesnt. Its an awesome country. I admire U.S. for all the accomplishments. But I do not like its foreign policy -especially now.

Came in from Scoble, reading thru.. and then see these flamebait comments..

Ok morons.. if the US is proactive, you complain.. and if it is not, you still ocmplain. Why don’t you get your PM to support the current war first. And before you stop the killings in Iran, stop the ones going on in Kashmir. Scores of poor and innocent Indian Hindus have been killed.

Before try to impress upon a female by making a statement, make sure you have the moral authority to do so. Or else your jackass-ness comes ripping out

One invasion at a time, when the iraqi oil runs dry you will see the US finding other reasons for going for the next oil pot. However in Iran they didn’t support the government there with weapons a while back as they did in Iraq and with the Taliban. If you talk about execution you should first look to the US, not only people who should be protected under the Geneva convention get tortured and killed, but also in their own country they have the Texas style of executions. Plenty of them sent innocent youths to death. If the US stays home and fixes their own problems first the world will be a better place.

Divya,

The US only does good deeds like Operation Iraqi L>iberation

Unfortunately, they dont have time for the real culprits!!

As far as Human Values are concerned,I have met so many “highly educated” Indians who want to nuke a certain neighbouring country of ours or promote violence against other communities. When educated people themselves have radical thoughts and prefer violent methods, how will Human Values ever be important?!
